Self Storage Auctions 101 - Follow up book coming Dec 2008!

I have been pounding away at the keys again.... This time I am putting together a follow up book entitled Self Storage Auctions 101. It will contain all the items which didn't really fit in the first book entitled How to Make Boxes of Cash with Self Storage Auctions.

I am working on a chapter called "101 lessons learned". It is designed to save the reader time and money by reading what others have gone through and learned. Of course, I will have my hard learned lessons in there as well.

There are some other chapters that will be in there and as the hot summer weeks float by, I will be posting some other chapter ideas.

It is also an excuse to stay in my air conditioned office!~

It can happen to anyone!

Okay, I am sure this will be an urban legend in a year....A friend of mine that goes to auctions with me purchased 6 lockers for $10 about the last week in April. Obviously they weren't anything exciting to look at because of the price they sold for. In one locker he found (3 or 4) gold bars and well over $100,000 in cash. The locker was a bunch of old lady's clothes that had cash tucked in EVERY pocket!
He has since bought a new car, a new motorcycle and a few more items. My question to you reading this blog ... what would you have done with the money and the gold? Would you have put in a safe, a bank, spent it or what???

Photos and Personal Items

I believe in that old golden rule - treat others the way you want to be treated...I suggest that anyone who is cleaning out a locker and comes across photos, graduation certificates, licenses, etc. return them to the property manager's office before leaving with the rest of your locker contents.

I actually went as far as to drop off a HUGE box of professionally photo'd pictures of the kids. I dropped it on the doorstep and RAN! I can only imagine their surprise when they came home.

It is such a small thing to do....and you fell good about it, too!

Affluent Areas

Hi Anonymus, You are absolutely going about the auction process correctly! In my opinion, being from the Bay Area myself...I stuck with the corridor off of 101 with the Public Storages, Extra Space, etc.

I would suggest going to my website www.selfstorageauctioncash.com and sending me an email directly. I will give you a few more leads and some "inside" information as to getting more lists in the area.

How to Make Boxes of Cash with Self-Storage Auctions

My name is Barbara Rogers, author of How to Make Boxes of Cash with Self-Storage Auctions. I decided to create a book to assist anyone who is interested in running a flexible, profitable self-storage auction business out of their home.

I felt it was important to share this valuable information with people, and to become the resource for those who need help getting it started. My book is a short read and provides step by step instructions for anyone to follow to become a successful business owner running a self-storage auction business.
