How to Make Boxes of Cash with Self-Storage Auctions

My name is Barbara Rogers, author of How to Make Boxes of Cash with Self-Storage Auctions. I decided to create a book to assist anyone who is interested in running a flexible, profitable self-storage auction business out of their home.

I felt it was important to share this valuable information with people, and to become the resource for those who need help getting it started. My book is a short read and provides step by step instructions for anyone to follow to become a successful business owner running a self-storage auction business.

I enjoyed the reading of your book How to Make Boxes of Cash with Self-Storage Auctions. I attend storage auctions as a collector of books and documents, rather than a business. Attending the storage auctions has not been fruitful as a collector except, when anyone obtains books, the professional calls me. Great networking to secure items I want and an education on life. Thanks. Richard Hopp at www.BuyingItAll.com

Barbara,
I'm totally interested at this business, I just ordered your book and so looking forward to it. Would you have any rough estimate of how much income can this "storage auction" business make annually? any statistic number?

I would imagine each and every storage unit is unique. In your opinion/experience, general speaking, would you said the auction goods are better at affluent area (such as Marin County, Silicone valley of California) or the not so well-off, such as Richmond, CA, or the sub-prime mortgage hard hited towns?
Many thanks.

Barbara,

I just ordered your book and consider looking into this business.

Do you have any statistic figure of how much could this business makes annually? any range guess?

Base on your experience, would you said the more affluent towns' auction would have better contents? or the not so well off area would be better? or does that even matters?

Thanks

Raymond

Hi Raymond! Thank you for your great question! I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did writing it!

As with everything, you get out of it what you put in. The range of income limitless - I know people that barely pay the bills with this business. Also, I know several people that just "collect" stuff because they have made enough money not to worry about the bills.

I encourage you to wait for the "profitable" lockers, and stay away from the junkie ones. Knowing what I know now, I would pay the extra few hundred dollars for the stellar 10x30's rather than pick up 3 or 4 5x10's that "might" make money that I got for only $25.

I say this often...and it still rings true for me. "The reason I purchased the locker, is never how I have make the money in the locker."

I would love to hear about your experiences when you go to auctions, I am current creating another book called SELF STORAGE AUCTIONS 101 "101 lessons people have learned from storage lockers";
I would love to put a story of your experience in it!

This sounds very interesting. I am a collector of old movie posters, concert posters and related entertainment memorabilia, and this can be a valuable resource for mt to find posters.
Thanks
